Jump back in time with me for a moment to 2017. I was finishing up my degree in Industrial Design and had my sights set on using my knowledge and skills within a large company as part of a design team. I never really wanted to be working directly with clients in the way that owning your own business requires. I had taken a website design class that focused on coding websites from scratch (HTML/CSS). It was a great class, but not something I really enjoyed. This wasn't my first experience with coding websites either. In 8th grade, we had a website coding class as well where we used only HTML to build a website about ourselves. I never enjoyed the time and effort required to create the simplest of elements and designs when working down at that base level. These experiences with coding led me to believe that website design wasn't for me.
…website design wasn't for me.
Shortly after graduation, I realized that corporate life really wasn't going to work for me long term. My mom and I began working on building our business within the e-commerce space. Quickly, I realized that I would be needing to learn how the modern world builds websites, and it's certainly not at the base code level anymore. I'll save the details of our adventures in the e-commerce world for another post, but the experience left me constantly searching for the best, easy-to-use platforms for the goals we were trying to accomplish. That, of course, included website building.

Enter Squarespace. Long story short, I fell in love with the platform as it allowed me to design in a similar, if not easier way than I would in Adobe's software. Plus, as they continue to update and optimize, it has become even easier to take what is in my head and get it out into the real world.
Below, you'll find a bit more detail on each of the 5 reasons why I use Squarespace and why you should too. Please note that there are no affiliate links on this page, however, if you do decide to work with me to build your web presence, you'll get 20% off your first-year subscription and I may get a financial kickback from Squarespace. This comes at no additional cost to you and I would absolutely still recommend Squarespace without it.
5 Reasons Why I Use Squarespace and Why You Should Too
SIMPLICITY
Managing your website should be simple. Sure 20 years ago, it was a challenge and required some advanced technical skill, but we also didn't all have smartphones 20 years ago. That is to say that the world has advanced significantly and if your website is still managed the same way it was back then or even the way it was 5 or 10 years ago, it's time to upgrade. Squarespace is easy to use. With the quick training I provide, you'll have no issue making the minor changes you need to make. You shouldn't need an advanced computer science degree to update a sentence on your website and Squarespace makes it so.
